Purposes of this research are: 1) To find out students’ reading achievement before being taught by applying Group Investigation. 2) To find out students’ reading achievement after being taught by applying Group Investigation. 3) To find out significant different score of the students’ reading achievement before and after being taught Group Investigation. This research was conducted by using quantitative approach with one group pre and post test design. The research was conducted at MTs AL Ma’arif Tulungagung. There were 46 students as the sample of study. The instrument of this study was test. The data was analyzed by using T-test. The result showed that the student’s score in reading before they are taught using Group Investigation (GI) Technique was 55.43. While the students’score after they are taught using Group Investigation (GI) as a technique was 71.52. The tcount was 8.945 and at the significant level of 0.05 the score of ttable was 1.679. It means that the score of t-test is higher than score of ttable.
