ABSTRACT Ma’rifat, Luqman. Registered Number Student 12510184015. 2020. Developing Video as Media in Teaching Speaking at The Third Semester of IAIN Tulungagung. Thesis English Education Department. Magister Program. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung. Advisors: Dr. Erna Iftanti, S.S., M.Pd and Dr. Susanto, M.Pd. Keywords: Speaking, Media Video The media video was important to teach speaking. Through video, students able to learn how to pronounce well, speak fluently, and the gesture or expression when speak. The fact was the lecturer at English Department IAIN Tulungagung did not use video yet as media in teaching third semester students. Due to the reason, this research was conducted to develope video as media in teaching speaking for third semester students at English Department IAIN Tulungagung. It was aimed to analyze the available media that used as a source in supporting speaking subject for third semester students at English department IAIN Tulungagung, to describe the process to develop video as supplementary media in teaching speaking subject for third semester students at English department IAIN Tulungagung, and to describe the user satisfaction aboutthe media video to teach speaking subject for third semester students at English department IAIN Tulungagung. This research was developed by following steps by Borg and Gall. They were need analysis, planning and product design, expert validation, revision, final product, and user satisfaction. The research was found three things. The first was the video should be available as the media in teaching speaking in order to the students could learn pronunciation through the video and learn about gesture and expression through the visual. The second was the product developed based on the material about public speaking and debate which consisted of 5 videos. The videos got “very good” score from expert validator and did not need to be revised. The third finding was the user stated that the video was satisfied. It was good and help them in learning.
