The Contribution of Wiyata Bhakti Program on the Teaching Performance of English Department Students of IAIN Tulungagung in Internship Program. Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Keywords: Pre-teaching program, Wiyata Bhakti program, teaching performance, Internship program Teaching is an activity of transferring knowledge from teacher to students. Teaching in internship program is an obligation for all the university students from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. ESA of IAIN Tulungagung has been created a pre-teaching program called Wiyata Bhakti. This program let the English students to perform in front of the real students as a teacher. From this program the volunteers can experience the teaching and increase their teaching performance that will useful for their internship program later. The formulations of the research problems is: How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the teaching performance of English Department Students in internship program? that divided into seven sub-questions, namely: 1) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in making lesson plan? 2) How How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in opening the class? 3) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in explaining material? 4) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in asking question? 5) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in answering question? 6) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in giving reflection? 7) How does the Wiyata Bhakti program contribute on the students’ performance in doing evaluation? The purpose of the research are: 1) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in making lesson plan that used in internship program 2) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in opening the class in internship program 3) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in explaining material in internship program 4) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in asking question in internship program 5) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in answering question in internship program 6) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in giving reflection in internship program 7) To investigate the contribution of the Wiyata Bhakti program on the English Department Students’ performance in doing evaluation in internship program. Research method: 1) the research design in this research was descriptive design that is case study with qualitative approach, 2) the subjects of this research were English students who have followed the Wiyata Bhakti program as the first experience in teaching and have finished the internship program in 2017. The procedures of collecting data were: 1) the writer collected data through interview, the data were in form of the interview transcript, 2) the writer chose the subjects, interviewed them, transcribe the result of interview, and re-transcribe the relevant data, 3) the writer done the coding, organized the data based on the topic, and showed the selected data in form of description, 4) draw conclusion based on the analyzed data. The result showed that the Wiyata Bhakti program has contribution on the subjects’ teaching performance in making lesson plan, opening the class, explaining material, asking question, answering question, giving reflection and doing evaluation in internship program. Furthermore, the Wiyata Bhakti program also contributes in help the subjects build up the confidence, set the mental in face various students’ characters, get closer with the students and settle the nervous and anxiety feeling.
