The Implementation of Learning Gallery in Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding for The Third Semester Students of Iain Tulungagung 2016. Sarjana Thesis, English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic institute (IAIN) of tulungagung. Advisor: Muh. Basuni, M.Pd Key words: Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding, Learning Gallery. Understanding Culture and language, both of them are related each other in teaching and practicing. Teaching language with understanding the culture has changed the paradigm professional teacher of language. It also gives challenge to teachers to create and applied effective learning in classroom. One technique that the lecturer uses to teach cross cultural understanding is by implementing Learning Gallery. It is defined a kind of modified jigsaw group project by which the students are grouped and responsible for a certain material to learn. The students’ grouping is done to invite each student to be actively involved in the instruction. The formulation of research question of this study is: How is the Learning Gallery planned in Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding? How is the Learning Gallery implemented in Teaching Cross Culture Understanding? How is the Learning Gallery evaluated in Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding? The purpose of this study is to know how lecturer plans before implementing learning gallery. To know how the lecturer implements learning gallery in teaching Cross Culture Understanding. To know how the lecturer evaluates in Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding using Learning Gallery. Research method: the research design of this study is case study with qualitative approach. The place and time of this study is in IAIN Tulungagung, starting October up to November 2016. The subject of this study is the third semester of English department. The data are result of interview, observation sheet, and document. Then the data source is the lecturer of cross cultural understanding course. Technique of data collection from Interview and Observation. Data verification is using technique triangulation. Methods of data analysis are Coding, reduction, data display, and Conclusion. The result of this study, the lecturer uses preparation in the teaching Cross Cultural Understanding is using lesson plan or course outline. The Implementation of learning gallery used in Teaching Cross Cultural Understanding by the lecturer done in two big rounds, and both of has three steps that should be followed. The evaluation used by the lecturer was Self-test and Teacher-test.
