Abstract

ABSTRACT Vauzy, Ubedh Martha. registere students 3213103142. Native speeaker’s strategy in teaching speaking. Thesis english education department faculty of taribyah and teacher training. State islamic indtitute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Mohammad Basuni, M.Pd. Keywords: English Native speaker, Strategy in teching speaking Succes in teaching depends onmany factors, one of them is teaching strategies. Teachers have to perform appropiate strategies for teaching speaking because the use of teacher strategies depend on the students speaking proficiency. Good communication between teacher and students shows indicator of the teaching succes. Teacher’s strategy usefull to increase teachers capability in delivering material so the students get building their desire to study. The researcher has problem of the research were: How does English native speaker design teaching speaking? How does the english native speaker stimulate the students to speak? And what kinds actiivity set by english native speaker tha support the students to practice spaking english? Meanwhile, the purpose of this study is to find out the design that used by english native speaker to teaching speaking, to know how english native speaker stimulate the students to speak. And to know the kinds activity set by english native speaker tha support the students to practice speaking english. The research design in this study was descriptive qualitative. Then the subject of this research are the English native speaker. The data of this research were aken from obeservation and interview with english native speaker amd the students who are teach by english native speaker. The result showed that in Teaching Speaking the Native speaker use a design according to the lesson plan. The design are include of Warm Up (Pre teaching), Presentation (Whilst Teaching), and Post Teaching (Practice). In pre teaching consits of many kinds activities such as Greeting, checking the students attendance list, dictionary check and asked the material before. And then in Whilst teaching also consits of many kinds activities suach as devide the students into pair group discussion, write down the learning agenda in the whitheboard, invite students to make a converstation, describe those conversation and gave an opportunity to the students to ask and then gave a reward. For post teaching the English native speaker do an activity by asking the students to make a dialoge based on the keywoard and the last gave a test speaking. Besides activities design in teachings speaking it is also present the native spaker’s activities to stimulate the students to speak they are by always speaking English in the classrom , give a reward to the active students in speaking and give a minimal respond to the students activity. And then for the Native speaker activities to suport the students practice are by make a group discussion (pair discussion), give exercise, give a score and give a punishment to the students who are not speaking english in the class.
