Kata kunci: Characterization, Main character, physical appearance, personality, social status relationship Literature can be transformed into various forms such as poetry, prose, and also plays/drama. Drama can be presented in the form of drama performances, set in novels or folklore, or closer to today's society, namely in the form of movies. One of the successes of a film is the delivery of a message from the scriptwriter to the audience. The well conveyed message is of course due to the success of the cast in animating the character. In this study, the researcher focuses on the characterization of the main character in Maleficent Movie 2. The researcher focuses on the characterization through physical appearance, personality, and relationships with other characters. The purpose of this study is to provide an option for teaching materials or material about characterizations in teaching English in particular. The formulation of the problem in this research are: 1) What is the physical appearance of the main character in the movie “Malificent 2”? 2) What is the personality of the main character in the movie “Malificent 2”? 3) How is the main character's social relationship with other characters in the movie “Malificent 2”? The objectives of this research are to: 1) To find out how the physical appearance of the main character in the film "Malificent 2". 2) To find out how the personality of the main character in the movie "Malificent 2". 3) To find out how the main character's status relates to other characters in the movie "Malificent 2". The researcher used a literature research design with a objective approach. The researcher uses content analysis to analyze this research. Sources of data in this study are films and film transcripts from the film Maleficent 2. The data in this study are transcripts that show the characterization of the main character in terms of physical appearance, personality, and social status relationships with other characters. The results of this study contained 9 data on physical appearance, 37 data on personality, and 15 data on the relationship of character status with other characters. On physical appearance Maleficent has horns, fangs, wings, and always wears dark clothes. Aurora has the physical appearance of a beautiful and young queen. Queen Ingrith has a physical appearance always wearing a crown and glamorous clothes. In terms of personality, Maleficent has a wise personality; cold and prestige; compassionate and motherly; and emotional. Aurora has a sincere, friendly, responsible and courageous personality. Queen Ingrith has a greedy personality; cunning and hypocritical; and cruel. The latter is on the status relationship side. Maleficent has a good relationship with Aurora, Diaval, Conal, and has a bad relationship with Queen Ingrith. Aurora has a good affectionate relationship with Maleficent, Philip, the Three Fairies, and has a bad relationship with Queen Ingrith. Then Queen Ingrith only has a good relationship with Gerda and has a bad relationship with Maleficent, Aurora, and Philip.
