Abstract

One important role of educational institutions is to prepare superior and quality human resources, but in reality the quality of Indonesia's human resources is still low, which is ranked 111 out of 189 countries. For this reason, educational institutions that have high competitiveness are needed in realizing them. On the other hand, the Indonesian nation faces the challenges of the global development of the technology industry 4.0 era. In order to respond to these challenges, educational institutions must have leaders who are able to improve the quality of education, so that they will be able to produce quality and superior human resources. Digital leadership is an alternative to the right leadership style to be applied at this time. The purpose of this research is to describe the madrasas head's understanding of digital technology in enhancing competitiveness, analyzing the digital organizing of madrasa principals in increasing competitiveness, and analyzing how madrasa principals control and integrate technological trends in increasing the competitiveness of MIN 1 Malang City. Research uses a qualitative approach to explore natural and basic phenomena. This type of case study research is to comprehensively and in-depth understand various events related to certain processes and events. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses data condensation techniques, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results of the study concluded that the understanding of the headmaster is managed by using a technology-based combination management model in increasing competitiveness that is implemented through strategic and operational activities. The headmaster of madrasa organizes digital using technology-based combination management in enhancing the competitiveness of MIN 1 in Malang by organizing digital human resources and nonhuman resources, and integrating resources (HR and SDNM) with digital technology, and the madrasa head controls, integrates and develops emerging digital technology trends in MIN 1 Malang through a technology-based combination management model.
