Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung 2020. Advisor : Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Keywords: Learning Speaking, Speaking Program. English is international language used by all of country in the world. There are four skills that should be mastered, they are: listening, reading, speaking and writing. To build interaction with all people around the world, students should to speak English as the foreign language. Speaking is skill that must be practiced by the students for improving their speaking ability. For this case, students should master several speaking components such as comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, and fluency. Mastering speaking is an important aspect of learning English and success is measured in terms of the ability to carry out a conversation in language. Learning speaking needs more chance to practice in English. Speaking is skill that the students must try to practice their speaking ability for improving their confident, fluency, and ability in speaking. One of the ways in improving students’ speaking ability is speaking programs. Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School held the English speaking programs in improving students’ speaking ability. The formulations of the research problem are: 1) What are the programs of speaking at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School? 2) What are the activities of English speaking program at Darul Hikmah modern Islamic boarding school? 3) What are the evaluations of students’ progress in English speaking in English speaking program at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School? The objectives of this study are to find out: 1) The English speaking programs of students at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School. 2) The activities in English speaking program at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boardning School. 3) The evaluations of students’ progress in English speaking program at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School. The research design in this research is case study with qualitative approach. The subjects are the 2 teacher of LAC (Language Advisory Council) and 2 students 5th KMI of Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School. The researcher use interviews, observations, and documentation as the instrument of the research. The data analysis in this research are classifying or tabulating data, data reduction, data display and the last making conclusion with used triangulation to get the saturated data. The results of this research are the English speaking programs, activities and evaluations at Darul Hikmah Modern Islamic Boarding School that divided into ix x main programs and supplementary programs. It consists eight programs of English speaking program, such as vocabulary program, conversation program, daily conversation program, correction language program, speech program, drama program, making sentence program, and composition program. The activities there are fluency, accuracy with words and pronunciation, appropriacy, responding and initiating, repair and repetition, range of world and grammar, and discourse maker. Those activities are including in the English speaking programs. The evaluations used for evaluating students’ progress in English speaking program such as games, oral presentation, reading aloud, and role play. All of the programs are used to improve the students’ speaking skill. The programs used the English practice and also activities that sustain the speaking program, those all expected to students English speaking mastery. The conclusion of this research is an effective learning for speaking are the learning that used various programs which combined with some activities of language skills and integrity evaluations. The programs, activities and evaluations of students’ progress there used by combining listening, reading and writing skills. So, the students will not be bored on the learning process at school. The learning speaking can be more enjoy and fun with the various activities of the speaking programs.
