Keywords: Flipped learning, listening, second grade of Senior High school In this era, English has been a dominant conversation in many aspects in the world. Most of people in the world use English for communication, business, diplomacy, and also in education. Although English is important in several countries, but a half population think that English is a foreign language. For example, most of people in Indonesia do not use English for communication. The Government has established in legislation that English is one of materials tested in the national examination. In order to master English, teachers have to be creative and innovative to teach their student so that students will be more interested to learn English. However, English teachers just focus to enhance students’ writing skill whereas listening skill is also tested in National Examination. In this study, the writer thinks that to teaches the student with different method. The researcher is going to apply flipped learning method. Researcher applies this method in second grade of MA Darul Huda. The formulations of research problems are: 1) How does the classroom activity at the second grade of Senior High School students while following the flipped learning model?, 2) Can the teacher use flipped learning to improve the student’s achievement?. The purposes of this study are: 1) To know the classroom activity of the second grade of Senior High School students while following flipped learning, 2) To find out whether the teacher can use flipped learning to improve the student’s listening achievement or not The research design of this study is content analysis with Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data source of this study is second grade students of senior high school Darul Huda, Wonodadi, Blitar academic year 2018-2019. The total second grade students at Islamic Senior High School Darul Huda Wonodadi Blitar academic year 2018 – 2019 are 19 students, consisting of 12 female students and 7 male students. After analyzing the result of the research, the researcher takes two conclusions. The first conclusion is that after observing the students’ attitude in listening class, by applying flipped learning, students seen attracted in learning listening, students become more interested and not boring. The second, by analyzing students score in preliminary study, the researcher finds that the students’ scores are low. Only 4 students of 19 students that could passed the test in preliminary study.
