Abstract

ABSTRACT Thesis with the title "The Effect of Reciprocal Teaching Learning Model on Interests and Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Grade Seventh Students of MTs Al Maarif Tulungagung on Algebraic Material" was written by Putri Fatmala Dwi Nuriana, Register Number. 17204153221, Advisor by Musrikah, S.Pd.I, M.Pd. Keywords: Reciprocal Teaching, Interests, Learning Outcomes. This research was motivated by the low interest and student learning outcomes in mathematics learning. This is indicated by the number of students who think that mathematics is a difficult and boring lesson, so they lack mastery in learning. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can provide opportunities for students to build their own knowledge, one of them is the Reciprocal Teaching learning model. Through the Reciprocal Teaching learning model learning will be more interesting and meaningful because students can understand mathematical concepts presented in more detail. The objectives of this research are (1) to know the effect of Reciprocal Teaching learning model on students' mathematical learning interest, (2) to know the effect of Reciprocal Teaching learning model on student mathematics learning outcomes, (3) to know the effect of Reciprocal Teaching learning models on the results of mathematics learning of grade seventh students of MTs Al Maarif Tulungagung on algebraic material. This research used a quantitative approach, with a type of quasi experimental design. The population of this study was VII grade students of MTs Al Maarif Tulungagung. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample in this study were students of grade seventh A (experimental class) and students of grade seventh B (control class). Data collection methods used were questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of statistical data, namely the Manova Test. The results of this research showed that: (1) there is the effect of the Reciprocal Teaching learning model on student learning interest. Evidenced by the value of Sig. 0.002 <0.05 with the average student interest in the experimental class 69.41 and the control class at 62.94. (2) there is the effect of Reciprocal Teaching learning model on student learning outcomes. Evidenced by the value of Sig. 0,000 <0,05 with the average student learning outcomes of the experimental class 76,28 and the control class at 57,47. (3) there is the effect of Reciprocal Teaching learning model on students' interests and learning outcomes. Evident from the analysis of Pillai’s Trace, Wilks’s Lambda, Hotelling’s Trace, Roy’s Largest Root where the Sig. amounting to 0,000 <0,05.
