Keywords: Correlation, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Academic Self-Efficacy, Student Engagement During teaching and learning process, teacher should clearly understand what problems faced by students in the term of measuring their engagement. The problem is mostly being found are hesitation and anxiety to make mistakes, being not confident because they worry they cannot do well as their friends, or being nervous and blank because they suddenly come as the center of attention for entire class. Further, considering the issue of having to be engaged in learning English activity, student engagement is holding a critical role. However, there are still some students who decided to keep silent and make a big space from the term of participation as long as the class is running. In this case, the writer focused on the students who had been categorized as intrapersonal intelligence whom the researcher expected to have good self-efficacy due to their high self-awareness of themselves. They know what they are capable of and what they are not. The formulations of the research problem were: (1) is there any significant correlation between academic self-efficacy of intrapersonal intelligence students and their engagement in English department?, (2) how far academic self-efficacy contributes intrapersonal intelligence students’ engagement in English department? This research aimed to: (1) knowing whether there is any significant correlation between academic self-efficacy of intrapersonal intelligence students and their engagement in English department, (2) figuring out how far academic self-efficacy contributes intrapersonal intelligence students’ engagement in English department. This was a kind of quantitative study with an explanatory type of correlation research design. The population in this study was all students of C class of English Education Department at IAIN Tulungagung amounted to 35 students. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 10 students. The researcher distributed questionnaires as the data collection techniques in the study. All the data were analyzed quantitatively by using Pearson Product Moment of SPSS 16.0. The results showed that: (1) there is positive significant correlation between academic self-efficacy of intrapersonal intelligence students and theirengagement in English department as indicated by the value of rcount = 0.645 > α = 0.05, (2) there are 3.4% of academic self-efficacy contributing to intrapersonal intelligence students’ engagement in English department as indicated by the Adjusted R Square = 0.343 which had been calculated to the percentage by the formula = .
