Keywords: Writing, Recount Text, Stick Figure. Writing is one of four English language skill beside listening, speaking and reading.Writing is an activity for express the idea, concept, opinion in a text. Recount is taught in the first year students. Recount is important to be taught because the purpose of the genre is to show a process in order. Its social function is to describe how something is completely done through a sequence of series. From the result of observation in First Grade Students of IIS at MA Darul Huda Wonodadi Blitar, the students difficult to determine the idea, low vocabulary, they have not spirit to learn English, they have not motivation, so they they were lazy to paid attention when teacher teaching in the class. This research used Stick Figure as an media for solve students’ problems in writing English especially on Recount Text. Because the use of media in teaching learning process already becomes necessity. Media become a tool to create interesting and joy the atmosphere in conveying materials. Teaching writing using Stick Figure can be an alternative to make students’ interest in writing. The students are encouraged to evaluate their mistakes to be some cause of low socre in writing and make a plan to learning their ability in writing an Recount Text better. The research design of this research is used pre experimental design that involves one only group pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was all students of the first grade of MA Darul Huda Wonodadi Blitar in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was X IIS class which consist of 34 students. The researcher used test as an instrument of this research. The data analysis used independent sample T-Test. After giving the treatment the students’ score increased. It can be seen from the result of computation show that the students’ mean score before being taught using Stick Figure media is 32.29. While after being taught using Stick Figure media is 59.88. the significant value is smaller than 0.05. With the significant value was 0.000. So the null hypothesis was rejected. It means that Stick Figure media is effective to teach writing ability on the first grade of MA Darul Huda Wonodadi Blitar
