Abstract

key Words: Speaking ability; a series picture; daily activities Media has an important function in a teaching learning process. By using media, may be a student will understand what a teacher explains and teacher will be easier to transfer their knowledge to their students. On other word, the students can develop their proficiency in speaking to describe their daily activities. Statement of the problem: 1) what are the teacher’s preparations in teaching speaking?, 2) how is teaching using a series picture carried out in teaching speaking?, 3) how does the teacher evaluate the speaking activity?. The purpose of this research are: 1) to know the teacher’s preparations in teaching speaking, 2) to describe the activity of teaching speaking using a series picture carried out in teaching speaking, 3) to find out the teacher’s way evaluate the speaking activity. Significance of the research: The results of the study are expected to give useful ways of teaching technique that can be used to support the English teacher and to bring the students in more creative and enjoyable during following the teaching learning process. Research design is descriptive with qualitative approach. Variable of the study is teaching speaking using a series picture about daily activities. The subjects of the study are the English teacher and the seventh year students of SMP N I Kunjang Kediri. Instrument of collecting data in this research are documentation, interview, and observation. The method of the data analysis is non-statistical method. The research finding that the researcher found the activity of teaching and learning process, the teacher’s techniques used in teaching speaking, the material used by the teacher, and the media. It means that there is no significant different on the result the test and suggestion to be proposed to: the teacher; the students; the future researcher.
