Abstract

Key word: Based School Curriculum, application Nowdays, English is placed as content in and the curriculum, in which the students are demanded to master English skill, at least speaking, reading, listening and speaking. The curriculum used todays is School Based Curriculum which is curriculum arranged and applied by each school. It is a new paradigm developing curriculum which give wide autonomy to each school and involvement society to create teaching and learning an efective process. Here, the school has a full authority and responsibility in deciding curriculum and learning which is suitable with the point of view, mission and purpose of the school. This study is a descriptive research trying to analyze the application School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu Tulungagung. SMP Plus Daar Bakkah is choosen by the researcher as the object of study because it has the interesting program such as language development, it contains about developing foreign language ability (English and Arabic) for their daily and teaching learning language, they increasing international world by operating computer and using internet, memorizing Al-Qur’an is their daily activity, and the students came from many region. In relation with those the purpose of the study: 1) To discribe the application of School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu-Tulungagung, 2) To discribe the problems of the teachers in teaching and learning English based on School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu-Tulungagung, 3) To discribe the soulvations of teacher’s problems in teaching and learning English based on School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu-Tulungagung. The significance of the study: The study is expected to give worthy contribution for The Headmaster, the headmaster vice of curriculum, the teacher and the writer, that is hopefully able to use as reference’s material how to planning, doing and closing of the continuing teaching English based on Based School Curriculum and also as contribution to make the better English quality at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu Tulungagung in the future and also to improve the writer experience in teaching to young learners. The design in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach because the data of this researh are not numerical. The methods use for collecting data are interview, observation and documentation methods and the technique is triangulation. The place of the research is SMP Plus Daar Bakkah Mergayu Tulungagung. Based on the result of the study, it revealed that the application of School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah in their teaching learning English they used some media such as pistures and many supporting book so the process teaching learning can more effective. It was based on the analysis showed there was some problems that the teachers faced in applying School Based Curriculum at SMP Plus Daar Bakkah such as the teachers never follow workshop and the background of their studies was not from Education Department which is made them do not understand about the application of that curriculum. But, they have attemped to solve their problems such as the vice headmaster curriculum who she must mastery in arranging the School Based Curriculum becomes the leader for the other teachers by making the teachers understand and giving them information and knowledge obout the application of School Based Curriculum. The teachers also increase their ability by continuing their studies especially in Education Department.
